Dimplex has the UK’s widest range of heat pumps, across geothermal or ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and even water source. Dimplex has been manufacturing heat pumps across Europe for nearly 30 years and with outputs available from 5–130kW, there’s a model suitable for every installation - domestic or commercial, new build or retro-fit, indoor or outdoor siting. High temperature models are available with output flow temperatures of up to 70ºC, while reversible models can also be used for summer cooling. Dimplex also has a range of solar thermal water heating kits, which come in 12 pre-packaged kits for easy specification and installation. Solar thermal hot water systems can provide up to 60% of a property’s hot water needs, so as well as being sustainable, they are also an ideal solution to assist Part L compliance. For multiple dwellings, like flats, The ‘Block Assessment’ calculation in Part L allows developers to take an innovative approach to compliance, for example by using solar water heating for upper floor flats, with the benefit of the significant CO2 savings being shared across the entire block.
Importantly, the Dimplex flat plate collectors outperform a number of the standard values assigned for solar within the SAP software which, along with other minor adjustments, can make a real difference to achieving compliance. As a result, it’s important to use one of the main industry-recognised software packages which allow for finite adjustments to SAP’s default values, as some of the less well known packages do not have this facility.

The Dimplex solar thermal kits contain everything required for a standard installation, including flat plate solar collector, purpose designed solar hot water cylinder, roof mounting options and separate control and pump station. All components have been carefully selected to suit the UK climate.
