With a change in pattern towards how designers and construction companies within the industry have now started to design and build our towns and cities, the emphasis is now focused on sustainability, with an aim towards less and less carbon omissions being released into the environment.

The governments have now started to take heed, as to what some professionals, along with some members of the general public, have been stating for years. Our built environment should be designed and constructed to last, with materials that are more friendly towards our world in general.

The Construction Industry should now be offering their services with a greater ideology toward sustainable building. With so many products now on offer through a large percentage of suppliers within the industry, it should be second nature to build a new dwelling or development with this thought in mind. Architects, Designers and Specifiers are now taking this issue very seriously and are at the helm of this process, helping to steer the builders away from the older methods of using any kind of materials - carbon friendly or not - and onto the more sustainable building materials.

Energy effiency is also a major factor within the construction of new buildings and dwellings. The EPC's or BER's are an immensely important credential in the construction process these days within the UK and Ireland. If construction companies use energy efficient materials, the fuel usage and bills for these buildings - natural or renewable - should be drastically reduced, with an immediate effect.

As energy prices within the UK and Ireland continue to soar, it now makes sense for a change in thinking towards our futures.
